April 24th - War Prayer
Apr 24, 2026For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would
rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents
of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows
favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk
uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you!

EL OLAM, THE EVERLASTING GOD,
It remains very difficult to remember this truth.
When our hearts and minds are weary from failing to see a vision
materialize, we easily forget how much we should be grateful for what
you have done.
As we tread water in the sea of depression, we can forget your
goodness.
This passage says you are a shield, yes, but it also says you are a sun.
You are light to us.
Light that overcomes the darkness.
Help us walk uprightly, LORD.
Help us be grateful to be doorkeepers in your house.
Amen.
